AKASH

The Space is but an expression of its very root, the ether or “akash” in sanskrit. It can be considered to be deriving from the akash itself. The Akash as an element, sustains us in many ways, some of which are vital for our existence. It contributes to maintain the various forms of matter, including the body of living beings - be they animals or humans - and to maintain their specific shape. The body is made out of Space at its very basis. There is space between the cells and tissues, as well as between the organs and systems. Space is cold and it is devoid of movement. It represents the full potential of the entire Creation, although it cannot do anything on its own, as it needs the collaboration of the other four elements in order to play its role. Without space there wouldn’t be any movement or any possibility for any change of direction. The Space has the capacity to arrest a function when necessary, and to re-establish it when needed. Without it the other elements would not be able to exist nor to manifest themselves.

Space is the basis of Creation, energy and matter.
